When it comes to kitchens, the cabinet color indicates the sound. After all, cupboards are often the star of the whole room! Neutral cabinet tones such as white, TAN and Navy have been popular for years because they are easy to design – but a bold cabinet color that is in their tracks can also have a greater design power.

As these 10 kitchen conversions prove, sometimes a brave kitchen cupboard color really pays off. There is an entire rainbow of possibilities that are waiting to make your kitchen unforgettable, and these are some of the most memorable for me.

The designer Megan Lusher (@kalemdesignhouse) called the selection of the somewhat risky kitchen cupboard color in this revision a “terrible choice”, but loves the way the color (Benjamin Moores Hearth Red) came out – especially paired with everything else. “The more we were layered there, the more it felt like a real kitchen than just a small room with a fridge and oven,” Megan previously told apartment therapy.

Before she started with the process, she wanted to make sure that the room felt brighter and brighter and flowed with the rest of the living house. The goal for the task was to keep the “costs to an absolute minimum”, and this brave paintwork with Little Green Mid Azure Green is proof that you can update your kitchen with a small budget.
