balancing act
A defining feature of the Pavilion House is the direct examination of the landscape. Expansive glass panes blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces and offer a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The house is divided into two main zones: a lively entertainment room with kitchen, living room and pool deck; And a private wing for the bedrooms that are designed for calm and relaxation. Two different roof styles define these volumes: a flat, accessible roof extends over the 12-foot living spaces that extend to the 270-degree pool deck and finally lead to the terrace. In the meantime, a lean-to-roof over the bedrooms promotes a feeling of cosiness and creates an intimate atmosphere for the family after a day was spent entertaining.

Material harmony
The selection of materials plays an important role in the design of the aesthetic and functional identity of the Pavilion House. The strong white and brushed metal surfaces of the outer change to a refined black and gray inner palette. “Warm neutral leads depth, while strategic color pops inject a feeling of liveliness, especially in the children's rooms,” says Saloneee Ashtekel from Krei Studios. “The curated interior of the residence reflects the understated, monochromatic taste of the owners with furniture and surfaces that have been carefully selected in order to maintain a feeling of calm sophistication,” she adds. Special attention was paid to the bathing rooms, each with a striking character, a monolithic granite powder room up to the hand-painted tiles in the bathroom of the children and an ultramarin blue accent in the Master Suite.
