Lossberg worked with a color consultant from Farrow & Ball to design different moods for the different rooms. They used strong wall colors and varnishes with a soft beige base tone to set clear accents and create an appealing atmosphere. She is particularly proud of the furniture selection, which also includes numerous family heirlooms. Even the new items they purchased were reclaimed vintage pieces from a small family business in Austria. The family spends most of their time in the open kitchen with adjoining living and dining area. If you keep the large doors and windows open in summer, the line between home and nature becomes blurred.

“Since we don’t have food delivery services or many restaurants here, we started cooking and baking from scratch,” says Lossberg. “We get lost in gardening, getting creative and making pottery. In summer there are many beautiful swimming areas in the area and in autumn you can collect mushrooms in the forest and bake rolls in our fireplace. In winter we sit in front of the fireplace and take long walks in the forest.” The peace and quiet that Lossberg's family enjoys means that “sometimes you can hear horses from the farm across the street, roosters from the village or a tractor driving past.” If it's their Berliner Everyday life allows, they come to Schorfheide as often as possible, be it on long weekends or on public holidays. Lossberg even takes half-day breaks in the countryside—trips, she's discovered, can feel like mini-vacations.
