Thousands of people set up street blocks in Serbia on Sunday when they demonstrated their anger about the arrest from demonstrators of the government, who collided with the police the day before at a massive rally.
Demonstrators set up metal fences and hipps in different locations in the capital Belgrade and also blocked a key bridge over the Sava River.
Demonstrators in the northern city of Novi Sad defeated the offices of the prevailing populist Serbian progressive party with eggs.
The Serbian media said that similar protest blocks were organized across the country in smaller cities.
The demonstrators on Sunday called for the release of dozens of university students and other demonstrators who were planned for attacks on the police or allegedly to overthrow the government at the rally on Saturday in Belgrade.
