The dress code turned out to be what they are: “Accessible and cozy and something that reflected our two personalities and gave us enough space to entertain and accommodate family and friends,” says Lauren, who was born and raised in Concord . It would have been a simple short time if your personalities from your and Vijay were something similar. “He traditionally leans while I prefer modernity. He and I also approach very different decisions. He decides and calculates quickly, while I like to sketch all the options, discuss the possibilities, finally make a decision and maybe rethink these decisions later, ”she and her husband, who heads an environmental company.
“The family is most common in the kitchen and fluctuates between cooking and eating or on the edge of chaos in the morning while the children are ready to go to school,” says Lauren. In order to choose the drama, Chango delivered an object lesson in opposites and darkened the cupboards in Benjamin Moores Onyx and flashed the island with a plate of sharpened statuario marble. A monochrome asaf wine broom shine in halves the backdrop, while the tan -woven stool from Thomas Hayes Studio gives a splash of color.
“Vijay's family moved a lot when he was younger. He grew up in India, Nigeria and Switzerland before returning to North Carolina at the age of 11. On the other hand, my family roots in Concord are strong; I have four younger sisters who have all withdrawn home over the years, so our home is often a meeting point for our beloved family and friends “Onyx. The dining room is a palimpsest of the dazzling art collection of the owners – a combination of commissioned art, intentions from the life and travel of the couple and family heirs. There is a Kenny Nguyen painting over the room, over a Crump & Kwash Credenka and a custom dining table and Abi chairs by van Rossum. The ceiling Ross Gardam reflects the design in the living room.
One thing she agreed on was to keep things classic, but not too classic. When the architecture of Vijay reflected, the interior design Lauren kept a mirror – deadless, nervous and a little unexpected – when she entrusted Chango to be alive. “Since the architecture was already in motion, we wanted to honor their essence and give the interior design an independent, independent story,” Avers Simonpietri. And so she did it and put every room a pronounced expression: a stone slab in the black foyer, a green family room that was worn with a jeweled sofa and a kitchen is darkened in black. She paid attention to the children's bedrooms and combined them with lofts to hide toys and promote a joint or individual game.
Most morning, the study, masked as a meditation room. “Since it is often so peaceful and relaxed, it was of course the meeting point of the family – where the silence is lovingly interrupted, which makes room for beautiful memories that are shared together,” says Vijay.
