The managing director of Prudential Bank Limited, Bernard A. Gyebi, has repeated the commitment of his institution for a “green Ghana” when he joined diplomats and other corporate institutions at a special tree planting organized by the forest commission in ACCRA.

The program under the patronage of the tree for life restoration Initiative of President John Mahama was developed at the beginning of the month to rehabilitate deteriorating countries, mitigate climate change and to restore dirty water in their natural condition.

After Mr. Gyebi had planted his tree in Achimota Forest, he said with the press and said that Prudential Bank was obliged to promote a safe environment for everyone. This shows through its support for sustainable initiatives such as the “Tree for Life Restoration” initiative.

“We are committed to trying to restore our environment, preventing the deterioration of our forests and promoting a safe climate, among other things. We have set up a sustainability unit that monitors our drive to the bank responsibly and ensure that our actions do not harm the environment.”

He said the bank supported projects and programs over the years that were carried out by the Forest Commission and the Ministry of Land and Forestry in order to restore the vegetative coverage of the country, a measure that it states that the bank continues.

“We are enthusiastic supporters of the Ministry of Land and the Forest Commission on the trip to save our forests. Every year, the staff of the forest commission join to plant and donate trees for the proper care of the trees that we plant. We have trees here in the Achimota forest and the Chipa Forest Reserve in the Easter region.

The “Tree for Life Restoration” initiative is initially to take back 16 hectares of land, the goal of expanding it to 500 acres annually, and the long -term goal of restoring 10,000 hectares.

The initiative thus aims to rehabilitate areas Degily Degiled by Illegal Mining and Deforestation, Transforming Them Into Ecologyally Functional Landscapes, Raise Awareness About Importance of Tree Planting and Conservation, Especialy to Children and the Youth by Intilling the Value of Tree, Nurturing and Environmental Stewardship, Enhancing Urban Greening by Planting in Cities, Promoting Sustainable Livelihoods by Creating Green Jobs in Agroforstei, Ecotourism, Fish Breeding and Apiculture.

President John Mahama, who recently started the initiative, described her as a “project of hope, resilience and as a way to a sustainable future”.

The month of June was officially designated as “Make Ghana Green Month”.
