Polish businessman Piotr Szczerek, co -founder of the Paving and Landscaping Company Drogbruk, is in the spotlight after a viral video of the US Open has shown that he was a signed cap from the tennis player Kamil Majchrzak, a cap that was intended for a young fan.
Piotr Szczrek and Drogbruk
Szczerek, together with his wife Anna, founded Drogbruk in 1999. The company is known for the production of paving stones, concrete slabs, fences and decorative landscape design. In addition to the construction, Drogbruk has built up its image on sports sponsoring and youth athlete programs and closely connects the brand to Polish sports culture.
Despite its strong reputation in the pavement and fence industry, in which the company emphasizes reliability and professionalism – the recent incident has damaged its image, and many online users threaten to boycott the products from Drogbruk.
The US Open incident
The controversy broke out after Kamil Majchrzak achieved an angry victory against the ninth seed Karen Khachanov. After his victory, the tennis player approached the stands to hand over a signed cap to a boy named Brock. Before the child could accept it, Szczerek was seen as he took the cap and put in his partner's pocket.
The clip quickly spread on social media and triggered outrage. The fans accused Szczerek of unsportsmanlike behavior and asked the United States to ban it from future events.
Majchrzak's answer
Majchrzak tried to make up well again, and later went to social media to find the young fan and write: “Could you help me to find the child from my game?” He finally met Brock personally and presented him with a signed replacement cap and other gifts. The moment was widely praised, with many welcomed the player's sportiness.
Why is it important
While the actions of Szczerek attracted sharp criticism worldwide, they also raised broad questions about ethics, fan behavior and corporate responsibility for major sporting events.
A user wrote: “One of the users wrote:” The person who was seen in the video was publicly recognized as Piotr Szczerek, the owner of the Polish paving company Drogbruk. He is a thief and will regret this for the rest of his life. “
Another user commented: “Technically, he didn't steal anything. The player didn't even look at the child. He looks bad, but if the CEO didn't take it, another adult could have taken it. It was never in the child's possession.”
“This man is an absolute cock to take it to a child, hopefully he will get his ComeCpance,” wrote the third user.
